A contemporary fiction novel on loss, acceptation and personal growth
After the unexpected
death of her single, lesbian daughter, young grandmother Anne (56) has to take
care of 'the child,' her adopted granddaughter Vita (8), but that does not fit
in at all with her safe, organized life. Anne was raised in a very
authoritarian way and never really understood her wild and completely opposite
daughter, who in turn raised 'the child' so differently, nor did she find a way
to connect with the - in her eyes - 'wild child'. She therefore goes looking
for Vita's biological mother, hoping that she will still want 'the child' back.
After a stressful, confrontational, emotional journey
that lasts six months full of unexpected twists and turns, Anne is forces to
process the death of her wonderful daughter, to question herself thoroughly, to
drastically change her life and to make impactful decisions that she should
have made a long time ago, or is it too late?
